Ben-Tzion Spitz has published his first in the Destiny’s Call series, Book One-Genesis. The paperback, published by Valiant Publishing, offers thirteen short stories based on biblical figures in Genesis. At the end of the book are questions for discussion, making this an excellent choice for reading groups and schools. I am proud to have been one of Ben-Tzion’s writing coaches. This is from Dr. Yossi Gotlieb: I am pleased to announce the publication of my novel, Rise. Rise takes place against the backdrop of contemporary Israel. Its plot revolves around a series of violent incidents, launched by both Jews and Arabs. At a time when disillusionment and dismay have descended on the society, the characters, both Jews and Arabs, line up on either sides of a divide, a chasm that is not defined by nationality or religion but by integrity, travail and hope. Issues of personal redemption and social renewal form the subtext of the story. Rise is being issued by ‘Atida Press, a new publishing initiative I have launched to present works of fiction and nonfiction dealing with coexistence, sustainability and related themes. I invite you to visit my website at www.ysgotlieb.net, where Rise will be serialized and the book can be purchased. The website also features a description of the various spheres of activity in which I am involved, my past and current works, a gallery of my visual projects, and a blog, Issues of the Day, where I offer comment on recent developments in politics, social affairs, culture and other matters of note. I would welcome hearing from you after you have visited www.ysgotlieb.net. Of course, I am no less eager to learn your impressions of Rise and its message.
